In most cases a Taurus lever hoist can be repaired rather than replaced. Toco operates in house testing and repair facilities, so technicians strip, assess and rebuild the unit, then load test and recertify it before it returns to site. Repair is usually faster and more cost effective than replacement and keeps the equipment compliant.
Testing and recertification
A lever hoist is a lifting machine that can suspend and halt a load, so it requires a Performance (Load) Test Certificate, valid for 12 months. Lifting equipment must also be inspected at intervals not exceeding three months under DMR 18(10)(e) of the OHS Act. Toco recertifies after inspection and issues the correct certificate for the equipment class.
