Turnbuckles Turnbuckles have an open body, exposing the threaded section. Drop forged to DIN1480, with sizes ranging from 6mm to 48mm. Toco also stocks Commercial and Stainless Steel turnbuckles. Every item here is a rated lifting component and every item has a direction of pull it is designed for. The most common failure in the field is not an overloaded component but a correctly rated one loaded in the wrong direction: a dee shackle taking a side load, or an eyebolt pulled at an angle. Tell the team the load, the geometry and the direction of pull, and they will specify hardware that suits the actual lift.

Bow and dee shackles are supplied from 0.5 ton up to 150 ton Working Load Limit, with the popular range to 55 ton and larger sizes supplied on enquiry. Always select a shackle by its Working Load Limit, which is the rated load in service, and never by its breaking strength.
A bow shackle, also called an anchor shackle, has a wide rounded body that can take load from several directions, which suits multi leg slings and any connection where the pull is not perfectly in line. A dee shackle has a narrow body suited to straight in line single leg pulls. Using a dee shackle where the load can swing sideways is a common rigging error.
Rated capacity for an eyebolt or eyenut falls sharply as the angle of pull moves away from the axis of the bolt. Toco supplies galvanised drop forged eyebolts and eyenuts manufactured to DIN 580 and DIN 582. Tell the team the direction and angle of pull so the right component and rating are specified.
Rigging hardware is lifting tackle rather than a lifting machine, so it cannot suspend or halt motion once input energy stops. It is supplied with a Conformance Inspection Certificate where a certificate is required, and a Mill Certificate can be provided on request for imported stock that needs a manufacturing trace.
No. Wire rope clamps are a field termination for temporary and securing applications, not a method of assembling a rated lifting sling. A rated steel wire rope sling is assembled with a swaged or spliced termination and certified. Toco assembles those in house.
