Taurus chain blocks are medium-duty chain blocks ergonomically designed for maximum output efficiency and safe operation and fitted with an OLL (overload limiter). These portable lifting devices are used in factories, mines, farms, construction sites, wharves, docks and warehouses for a wide variety of lifting and materials handling operations. Capacities range from 0.5 ton to 20 ton and are made in single or double fall configurations.

Taurus is a medium duty range offering a dependable, lower cost manual chain hoist for general lifting. Taurus chain blocks comply with SANS 1594 and are fitted with SANS 1592 load chain, with an OLL (overload limiter) as a standard feature, double ratchet pawls and spur gear efficiency that reduces operator effort. Chain blocks are one of the five equipment categories inside Toco's Lifting Machinery Entity registration, LME No. 008, and each unit is supplied with a Performance (Load Test) Certificate.

Models HSZ-0.5 through HSZ-20, covering 0.5 ton to 20 ton, with one to eight falls of load chain depending on capacity and load chain diameters from 6 mm to 10 mm.
Taurus chain blocks comply with SANS 1594 and are fitted with SANS 1592 load chain. An OLL (overload limiter) is fitted as standard. Units carry double ratchet pawls, a hand wheel cover allowing angular operation of the hand chain, spur gear efficiency that reduces operator effort, and a mechanical friction braking system with high quality performance brake disks. The gearing assembly is not attached to the outer covers, which prevents external impact damage reaching the gears.

Chain blocks are one of the five equipment categories on Toco's Department of Labour approval, LME No. 008, granted under Driven Machinery Regulation 18(5) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Each unit is supplied with a Performance (Load Test) Certificate and Toco recertifies for the life of the equipment.
